Representative Frank Hornstein Endorses Katie Jones for 61A
"I met Katie five years ago when she was a member of the Lowry Hill East Neighborhood Association's Environment Committee. We collaborated on introducing the first ever legislation to promote organics composting in multi-family buildings.
Fast forward to 2023, and Katie again stepped up in a major way to assist in writing and advocating nation-leading legislation to curb greenhouse gas emissions in the transportation sector. Her recently released Climate and Sustainability Action Plan is a blueprint to address the climate emergency at the state level.
I am honored to support Katie Jones for Minnesota House in District 61A.”

What Rep. Kraft says about Katie:Katie Jones will be a fantastic State Representative.
As a climate-focused elected leader, I have worked closely with Katie over the past 5 years and she is the real deal. Not only is she incredibly knowledgeable on climate and transportation policy, but she is an extremely hard worker, a proven organizer, and an excellent listener. And she already knows how to get things done at the Capitol. In fact, the most impactful and important piece of legislation I authored and got passed last session, on climate smart transportation, was literally Katie's idea. Successful legislators must build consensus with diverse groups of stakeholders. I've seen Katie do this time and time again on very complex issues. Following in the footsteps of Frank Hornstein won't be easy, but Katie will be able to hit the ground running. I'm thrilled to endorse Katie. - Rep. Larry Kraft |
FORMER & CURRENT MEMBERS OF THE MINNEAPOLIS CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT LONG-RANGE COMMITTEE
We have all served with Katie Jones as appointees to the City of Minneapolis Capital Long-Range Improvement Committee (CLIC), where we have represented the city’s various wards and neighborhoods in advising the Mayor and City Council on the capital budget, recommending ways to invest more than a billion dollars in paving, sewers, parks, police and fire facilities, public art, and more.
Over our collective tenure, CLIC has elected Katie to a leadership position multiple times. We believe that the things that make her an excellent committee member and leader are the same things that will make her an excellent representative for district 61A at the State Capitol.
We enthusiastically support Katie Jones for 61A.

What Frank says about Katie:
I support Katie because of her progressive values and her gumption. Most importantly, she listens. She’s open to hearing multiple sides of an issue to make good decisions. She organizes and brings diverse groups of people together, like renters, who are typically left out of city conversations. She makes sure they’re informed and have a voice. Katie is one of the best strategists I know. She takes what she hears from people’s everyday experiences and is able to craft solutions. Importantly, she follows through. I saw all of this while serving on the neighborhood board together. She has strong values that I support and I know she will continue to do great work.
